A word to the wise

In light of a few recent experiences of both myself and/or my friends, I feel an obligation to deliver some advice to a specific population of guys. Thus, if you are a guy who is going out to bars looking to meet a decent girl (if you just want to hook up, these rules may not apply), listen up, because I'm about to impart valuable wisdom...

1 - First, try not to get so drunk that you can't make complete sentences. That, for most girls, is a pretty big turnoff. Also, this may help you avoid the tendency to repeat the same sentence every 5 minutes, which is also fairly unappealing.

2 - It would also be ideal, if you didn't get so drunk that you cannot prevent yourself from sending completely incoherent text messages. Case in point: when you do things like call and say "This is so-and-so, I met you at such-and-such bar," when that was clearly not what happened, sending a follow-up text message that is apologetic, but completely mis-spelled, really doesn't do much to remedy the situation.

3 - Also, its best if after asking for a girl's number, you avoid mis-typing the number into your phone then yelling at her for giving you the wrong number when the call doesn't go through. I definitely did not tell you my area code was 2-4-5, I promise.

4 - Finally, if you are trying to impress a girl, bragging about the fact that "girls really like me" usually isn't the best way to make a girl feel special.

Clearly, this list is not exhaustive but are just a few things I thought I would get off my chest. Some of you guys seemed like you could use a little help out there...
